At Harris House Antique Lighting we sell only carefully restored and rewired antique lighting, mainly from the late 1800s through the early 1940s. We welcome your questions!
All work is done on the premises by our restoration experts and many of our ceiling fixtures can be adjusted for length at no extra cost. All fixtures have been rewired using UL and CSA approved components. All wire to the socket connections are tinned and all wiring bundles are soldered together before the wire nuts are installed and the whole bundle is then wrapped in electrical tape. Any exposed wire is of period friendly rayon covered, again UL listed and CSA approved. Your electrician should have no problem, as the ceiling connection is modern and installation ready.
We encourage dialogue and are always happy to send as many photos as necessary along with measurements and any other information you require. We've been in business for over eight years though we're new to baroqoo. We ship our ceiling fixtures, wall sconces, porch lights and desk lamps throughout the US and Canada. Please note that currently the prices include shipping throughout theUS and Canada. We're open to sending to other countries, so do ask about additional rates.
Thanks for taking a look at our antique lighting collection. The inventory is always changing so please check back often and don't hesitate to ask any questions or request more photos. Harris House Antique Lighting has been in operation for nearly nine years now. We started our business in a small town in Nova Scotia Canada, inspired by not only our own circa 1870s home but by the abundant historical architecture throughout the province. While restoring our own home this business was a natural addition to our existing work, Michael as a painter and sculptor already familiar with the various applications required for the restoration of various metal surfaces. We're presently in British Columbia having returned due to family obligations but continue to seek and restore the beautiful lighting of times past.
Thanks for looking!
We ship within three business days of payment, in most cases the parcels go out the next day. We generally ship (and insure) with Canada Post and have included the costs to the US and Canada within the purchase price. Tracking information is always provided and I track from my end, too! If you're located elsewhere and are interested in our fixtures, please let us know and we'll add whatever additional costs are necessary for your location. Don't hesitate to ask, if you have any questions at all! We've been shipping our lighting without issue for over eight years now, to the US Canada and beyond.
Return & Exchanges
Our no return or exchange policy is due to the high shipping and packaging costs involved in ensuring these fragile and odd shaped items arrive safely. Because of this, we encourage dialogue with our customers - we'll send all the information and photos you need to ensure that you know exactly what you are getting. To date, we have had no requests for returns. Even if you want a photo of a lamp next to a coke can for size, just let us know! And if you need more help once you are ready to install your lights, we're here for you. That being said, you never have to be worried should the lights arrive damaged due to some mishap in shipping - we'll take care of all expenses in that unlikely event (so far so good after eight years!) If the box appears damaged on arrival, please take a photo before opening, and after opening, please take photos of the damage. This will be necessary for us to make an insurance claim with Canada Post. Please report any damage immediately. As mentioned before, this has not yet happened - we take a lot of time and care with our packaging, wrapping in tissue paper, large bubble wrap, extra boxes within boxes, etc.
