German Porcelain Breakfast Board, Blue Onion Pattern

  • 1 Left 1
  • My best guess that this white and blue porcelain breakfast board was madesome time after the 1940's.I found it in Germany and is simply marked with an embossed letter S insidea crest and a faint transfer plus sign on its unglazed back side. This can be seen in 7.The transfer pattern is a variation of the Blue Onion or "Zwiebelmuster" pattern. What is lovely and unusual is the crown of three petals atop the hanging bail.I was thinking it would go so well in a French Country, Farmhouse or cottage kitchen.

CONDITION:The cheese bread board is in vintage, used condition. There are no cracks or breaks, but some wear around the cornersand along the raised edge details. The front side also shows glaze wear and scratches from cutting along withminor discoloration. I have shown this in photos 8 and 9.MEASUREMENTS:The breakfast board measures 10.25 inches in length and 6 inches in width. It measures 0.25 inches in thickness and weighs 1 pound and 4 ounces beforepacking.
